PC monitor REALLY dark after sleep mode?
-
I have a dell monitor on my hp computer. The computer is starting to get slow and everything and im planning on buying a new computer within the next 2 years. Anyways... So after the screen saver goes off it goes into a like sleep mode and the display turns off. Well the problem is, when the display gets "woken up" it is dark, and i mean like you have to have all the lights off and you can still barely see whats on the monitor. Ive tried to change the settings and everything in the NVIDIA controls and the windows controls, but nothing works. After a couple minuets the screen brightens up but its still pretty dark. And on my other computer with a samsung monitor it is way brighter. Im not exactly sure what the monitor model is, but my computer says Generic PnP monitor. Its the one that comes with dell computers.

Answer:
This typically means that you have an older monitor and it's still warming up. You should probably get a new monitor, or newer monitor. You might need a new monitor two to three years down the road anyway, so save yourself the hassle of trying to fix it. Or, rather, buy a good quality monitor that has potential to last for more than a few years. Thing about monitors is that things either burn out, or burn in, and it gets old quicker. Some advice for saving your monitor in the future: turn it off when not in use. Not only are you saving on energy, but you're also saving the monitor's components from potential damage.
