Why is my screen pink and purple?

Why is my screen a shade of pink?

  • For a while now my screen has been alternating from a pink shade to normal colour. So far i know it's not the screen as the screen has been replaced before and the screen menu is normal. If i turn down blue and red the screen goes black instead of green. So i think that something is wrong with the colour green. It can stop for months and then just randomly come back. It usually only lasts a week or two but i fear it may become permanent. If any one has any suggestions or advice on how to fix this please help me.

    your issue is likely to be a loose cable, remove from both ends, swap them over (so the PC end now goes into the monitor socket) tighten the screws and it may solve your issues. The other possibility is a graphics card issue, possibly related to heat. Another issue is possibly an issue with the invertor in the screen if an LCD but my money is on a loose cable.

make sure your blue lead , i.e the lead connecting the monitor and the back of the computer are connecting properly. Also try mess around with your buttons on the monitor and find auto adjust.

It's most likely a damaged or loose ribbon. the ribbon is what connects the motherboard to the monitor. You don't state if it's a PC or laptop, but if it's a PC simply buying a new ribbon SHOULD fix it, or maybe you just need to push it in to the back of the monitor and/or computer.

The cable connecting your computer to the monitor must be a bit loose. Make sure it is not and that should solve the problem. If it keeps coming back then maybe buy a new cable as they are not a lot.
