Do all computer monitors have VGA input?

What is a DVI-D and a D-Sub input on computer monitors? Will these accept the normal VGA hookups?

  • I am researching buying a computer monitor and both of those came up as the inputs to the monitors. I was looking for a VGA input and am wondering if the monitor i'm considering even has one. This is the monitor i'm looking at if anyone is curious: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8439442&type=product&id=1183160137115 Let me know.

  • Answer:

A VGA will work on the D-Sub port as long as the port is a 15 pin connection. You will get better graphics with the DVI-D because it is digital. Why it was worded this way is bad. D-sub is an analog connection And DVI is a digital connection. The extra Don the end was not needed as we already know it is digital

Other answers

This monitor is for the serious gamer and will not accept a VGA connection. That means you should be looking at a new video card that has a DVI out put - most quality ones do. You would want a quality video card anyway to take advantage of this monitor.
