Why does my LG monitor not turn on?

LG monitor power button jammed?

• Hey just going to cut a long story short ive managed to somehow push the power button very hard on my monitor and now it feels like its literally jammed in there stuck on the ON button and can't switch the monitor. The reason im making the post is to ask what i can do to solve this issue and before you ask ive tried a knife to unjam it its failed and pressing very hard on it and it failed. can someone give me advice what to do because atm i feel like if i turn the main power plug button off and the monitor doesnt come back on im literally buggered over some **** jamming situation. last resort for me really is sending the monitor back over something daft so any help would be appricated thank you. Type of monitor is LG 22" FLATRON w2246

  if under warranty you need to return it or any attempts at fixing it may void any warranty should you not be able to make it work. most switches are simple press buttons, the plastic face of the button just presses an internal switch, if the face button is compressed then the switch can not release. Usually to jam the face button it will have to move sideways and literally get jammed under the edge. All you can try is levering the button sideways to see if it will release. The other alternative is see if you can release the button by unscrewing the casing or it may just be held in place by plastic pressure clips. Only attempt the unscrewing if there is no risk of voiding any warranty, and if you choose to use a screwdriver to "prise" the case apart don't put it between the screen and casing or you risk breaking the screen, and always unplug it from the mains.
