Windows 7 screen resolution problem?

  • I recently installed Windows 7 on my previously Vista computer. Everything worked just fine, but the screen resolution is way off. It is only 600 x 480 and everything is huge. I tried to change it (via right clicking -> screen resolution) but it says that I cannot change the setting because the height of the screen is less than 600 pixels. The display driver that I have right now is the standard VGA driver. How do I fix this problem? Where can I download this VGA driver? How do I do it? Thanks.

    Go to the website for the company that makes your graphics card and go to support. You will likely find a list of drivers there. you can then download it, install the driver and restart your computer. The resolution should be fixed after restart. If you don't know what kind of graphics card you have, go to control panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Device Manager and find the graphics card in that list.

You will need to know what kind of graphics card you have. It will either be a nvidia or a ATI. http://www.nvidia.co.uk/page/home.html http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx Both sites i believe have card itdenitfiers in them. once you know what card, go to the relevent page and download the drivers

if advice above is not enough right click computer select properties look at the right side and select device manager click yes if asked 3 or 4 down is graphics use the > to reveal right click and select up date drivers ,,,,,,,,,,,,allow online search
