How to monitor PC in different networks?

Is there a monitor switch box that will allow me to switch my second monitor over to a backup PC?

  • I have 2 PCs, one is my main work PC and one is my old PC and I use it for some old software, etc. I have 2 monitors on my main PC, and a monitor for my old PC, but having 3 monitors seems crazy given how little I use the backup PC. I would like to find a switch box that allows me to switch over my main PC's second monitor to the backup PC...but all I can find are switch boxes (KVM?) that allow me to control 2 PCs with one monitor/keyboard/mouse...

  • Answer:

If you have a newer lcd monitor you have choices to set it either to dvi and vga if you have the adapter in the back. So what you can do since maybe your back up pc is to old to use dvi is you can use vga on the backup pc and then use dvi on your work pc. Then you can switch to either dvi or vga from your monitor settings.
