Why does my computer monitor keep turning off by itself?

  • Hi! ^..^ I am having an issue with my monitor-- it keeps turning off by itself every three seconds! I have to keep shutting the monitor off and then turn it back on again so it works. I put in one of my old monitors and it works just fine. Yesterday, around 6:00pm my monitor felt very warm and the edges were practically a vignette around my desktop+it was flickering a bit, so I turned it off for a few minutes until it felt a bit better-- and that's when all of the problems started. + I checked the power settings-- it was fine. I updated/downloaded my video drivers-- it still didn't do anything. What could the problem be, and what can I do to fix it? My goodness, I just wrote a novel. Lovelovelovee!

    Its not the problem with drivers. Change the monitor power cable with the cpu's power cable and try again. If it happens again you may have to contact the manufacturer. i doubt its the problem with power cable. But im not sure :D

Just a suggestion :- there might be a technical problem with your monitor.

The monitor has probably over heated to the point where it's starting to burn out it's inside. Make the sure the fans at the back aren't being blocked.
