Why does my LG monitor not turn on?

Speakers buzzing when plugged into LG E2250v Monitor, is anyone else having this problem? Help! :/?

  • Basically I have just purchased the LG E2250V monitor (http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-E2250V-Monitor-1920-1080p/dp/B003A0AHBE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=computers&qid=1285953463&sr=8-1) for PS3 usage in my room at Uni as my Panasonic TV from home was too big. The picture quality is fantastic via HDMI but as the monitor has no in-built speakers, I have my Creative GigaWorks T20 PC speakers hooked up directly to the monitor via 3.5mm jack (AUX cable that came with the speakers). However, frustratingly when I turn the volume up to around halfway and beyond (required in order to be able to hear clearly...), the speakers produce a feedbacky buzzing-style sound. There is nothing wrong with the speakers as they sound fantastic through the 3.5mm line-in on my laptop, could you help please? Do I need different wires? Should I go direct through the PS3 instead of the monitor with different cables required or what? Heeeeeeeeelp pleaaaaaase! Thanks, Lawrence

  • Answer:

I believe you need an amplifier. Try this: find an old stereo with OUT and AUX/IN, grab a AUX cable and hook it up to your TV TV audio out >via AUX cable > AUX/IN on your stereo> Plug your PC speakers into stereo's headphone jack. Adjust volume as necessary. Basically you wanna run your audio output through the stereo (it's got built-in amplifier) to your PC speakers. Hope this works out for you
