Is something wrong with my monitor?

I have a DELL GX 270, and there is something wrong with the monitor or the device driver.?

  • Only the monitor keeps on turning off. The Central Processing unit is working, the device driver software is OK. I even tried to bring another monitor screen and tried to work with it, but the same problem keeps on happening. ONLY the monitor keeps on turning off and the orange light on the power button of the monitor is on, meaning power cable is OK too. I ran out of options. I even tried to reinstall the device driver, format the system drive, nothing seems to work. Any advice? Regards.

  • Answer:

try another video card. it may be faulty hence the monitor isn't receiving signals anymore.

hmm, Standby mode turned on? If so what is the idle time before standby starts. If that is not it then your first answerer has it nailed. You ruled out your monitor so now its time to check your vid card settings. It is possible that the refresh rate is set too high for both minitors. If not then it is really time to pull your vid card out and put another one in. Try to borrow one if you can, just to be sure that the vid card is the problem. You might save a buck.
