Why does external monitor keep going out?

Why does my monitor keep going black?

  • I realize this question has been asked before but I can't find one that matches my situation. I have an HP-W1907 flat screen monitor and it has been only staying on for about 3 seconds before going instantly black, I can hit the monitor power button and shut it off and then turn it back on and do this repeatedly but each time it only stays on about 3 seconds. If I press the menu button, which is on the bottom of it, the screen says "No Input Signal" before going black again. Every question has said something about graphics cards but I know that isn't it mostly because I have plugged in my old e-machines monitor (a dinosaur at that) and it works fine without any issue. I would appreciate any and all suggestions on the matter and will get back to you on what works and what doesn't. Thank you.

  • Answer:

you are describing a dying monitor. replace the current monitor with a new flat screen or whatever you desire and all will be good.

I think you might want to replace your monitor. It seems the monitor had it's day. And since there doesn't seem to be any technical issues with graphics then the fault lays with the monitor.
