Why does my television keep turning off and on repeatedly?

  • My TV never used to do this i bought it in march and it's RCA it's connected to the cable in my sister's room and it keeps turning off and on and i can't watch tv or play video games please help!!

Is there a window with bright sunlight in the room? If so sunlight can actually make your TV's remote control sensor act as if it has received a signal. I had a TV that kept turning off and on at odd times, it was the sun coming through the window. Your next door neighbor's remote IS NOT affecting your remote. That's just silly.

Someone else (neighbor) has the same remote and remote code as you do. Read the directions in your manual, there is a way to change the code number.

could it be that your sister is playing a joke on you. or that you are sitting on the remote. my puppy or cat used to do that and couldnt figure it out for awhile.

Since your set is so new I would contact RCA support and discuss the problem with them. They might have a known problem with your type TV.
