Computer turns on but the monitor doesn't receive signal?

My computer turns on, but nothing happens but the monitor light blinks, monitor works with other computer.?

  • I have tried using my working video card from my other computer, It still doesnt do anything but blink at me. Brand new power supply installed in it, because thats what I thought the problem was since I tested the old power supply with my tester and it turned out to be bad. I have reseted my cmos and I'm kinda lost. Pluged all cables in and out many times. Any Suggstions?

    First of all, reset ur CMOS battery.. u can do that by removing and re-inserting the battery or by resetting the CMOS pin.. This must solve ur problem. If this doesnt work, try removing and re-inserting the RAM... If u need more help, drop me a mail...

you said your old power supply was bad, possbile the power supply might have fried a portion of the MB for the video. Is it built in video or you use video card???? try different pci slots. Remove all cards, and just stick in the video card, try each slot one by one.

do you have onboard video also. Resetting the cmos will reset the bios and it will look for onboard video not a pci card. If you have onboard video, try pluging the monitor into it and see if it works. If so, then you need to disable onboard and enable the video card in the bios. Blinking monitor lights indicates no video signal. I also assume that you have tried the monitor with another computer. Just a thought.

I'll bet you did not check the ram ? take all the ram out of the computer, put a stick of ram in that you know works and try the computer again, If the ram is blown you will not get video, hope that helped good luck.
