Do all computer monitors have VGA input?

Is it the vga cable or the computer monitor that is causing input lag?

• I am wondering if the quality of the VGA cable connected to my computer monitor would cause input lag, i just bought an XCM Mega cool VGA box so i can connect my hauppauge hd pvr to my computer monitor but it is having input lag which is strange because this never happened before... Here is the xcm mega cool vga box: http://www.amazon.com/XCM-1080P-Mega-cool-vga-Xbox-360/dp/B001C1RX2O before i got the vga converter box it worked perfectly fine and had no input lag with HDMI to DVI-D connection, i'm also starting to think it is my computer monitor because now it has to downscale to meet the output resolution of the converter box which is 1280x720 (720p) or 1920x1080 (1080p) usually when i hook up my Xbox 360 via normal VGA it lets me pick my monitors normal resolution which is 1366x768 but with the converter box it only lets me pick 720p, 1080i or 1080p so it has to downscale to 1280x720 causing input lag? So what do you guys think it is the VGA cord or the computer monitor?

  I have never heard of a VGA cable causing lag. Bad cables will cause color, image quality, or no diplay at all, problems, but not lag. I also don't think it's the monitor as I've never seen that problem with any display resolution on any monitor before either. Personally, I do think it has something to do with the converter, because that's where a conversion process is occurring that can potentially cause a problem. I know you have read reviews that don't state any problems, but they may not be using it the way you're using it somehow, otherwise they may also experience lag. It's hard to say for sure, but you could try different monitors or different resolutions from the box and see what happens. Best of luck.
