How do I connect my Macbook Pro to my Vizio television?
-
I have a MacBook Pro with a DVI port, a Vizio TV with a DVI port and a DVI cable; it should be as simple as 1, 2, 3. But when I plug everything together my computer can tell it's connected to the Vizio (I can tell by checking the Displays panel in system preferences), but the Vizio reports "No Input Signal Going To Sleep". I've tried setting it to "Mirror Displays" to effect, as well as trying plugging the devices in in different orders, and playing a movie in fullscreen. Nothing can wake my tv from it's slumber...

Are you setting the TV to the DVI video channel?

i'd say try fiddling about with the controls on your TV. if your mac is recognizing the connection, then that means something is wrong with the TV. perhaps just flip through all the input options available (i.e. PC, HDMI 1, HDMI 2, Cable, etc., something like that)
