How can I use my computer monitor as a TV?

So I live in a college dorm and have a big computer monitor but no TV. We have a Coax plug in the wall which you can just plug into a TV to get basic cable, but my monitor doesn't have a coax receiver in the back. I think I need one of those coax to HDMI converters or something, but someone told me it's more complicated than that...what do I need to get, and how much will it cost me? Thanks so much!

there r many cable avilable in computer shops which have audio and video output throw tht u can connect to monitor and then to u r receiver..with the help of that u can use monitor as a tv (no need to connect to PC)
