How do I download a display driver?

I was told that I need to download the latest display driver for my computer, but don't understand ....?

  • I'm not very good at computers, so I don't know what a Display Driver is. I'm running XP.

    Right-click on your computer icon, chose "properties" from the menu. From there, chose "Device Manager" open "display adapters" Right-click your driver, and chose "Update Driver" From there, Windows will give you a list of available updates.

computer is collection of parts, each of them require driver to run properly (they may work to some extent without driver but this will be poor). display driver is used to support graphic card. graphic card is part of computer responsible for producing images that are displayed on your monitor. this same principle applies to any computer or operating system (not just WinXP). normally one goes to website of the pc manufacturer (or manufacturer of specific piece of hardware) and selectes driver based either on part number of the component, or the major chip on the card. after download, start the driver installer and follow the prompts.
