How do i connect my pc to my tv?

How do i connect my pc to my tv?

  • I would like step by step directions on how to do this. I want to be able to use my TV as a monitor so that I can watch movies, and play PC games on my TV. I do not want to watch TV on my PC. Please include what cables I will need for video as well as audio. From my research, I think I need an S-Video cable, and a cable to connect to my headphone connector in order to get sound. I could be wrong. Please do not give me a website or any peer sharing websites. Thank you.

You are going to need a vga converter. It looks like the piece that you connect into your computer for your monitor on one end and the other has the red, white, and yellow color audio video cables. Thats it really. Just have to plug everything in.

First you'll need to make sure you have a Video card with a S-Video out jack on the card. Then you'll need to plug the s-video cable into your TV. then once you have done this go to your desktop, right click then click on properties. Click on the Setting tab. You should see an option there to select two different monitors. Make sure your 2nd monitor is set for S-video or tv out. Make the 2nd monitor your default then click on apply. You should see your computer screen apear on the TV. As far as sound, I would go with just using the sound from the speakers on the computer, or get you as set of wireless headphones plug them into your computers headphone jack and have fun.

Hi, First of all, it depends on the video adapter you have on your PC, many of them are provided by a S-video exit, where you can plug the s-video cable, the other cable's connector must be 'naturally' plugged into the TV s-video -signal in- Regarding the audio, if your audio board provided by an RCA output it is enough to connect audio board output into the TV RCA audio input, otherwise you can use the normal audio output-of the board- and connect it to the TV by using a simple cable adapter, and remember to set your PC's audio to the minimum, otherwise the audio signal will be very strong to supply the TV input. Bye. take a look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-Video .
