My sharp Tv wont show my computer?

How to get my computer screen to show up on my lcd tv?

• i had my desktop computer hooked up to my lcd tv through a DVI to HDMI cable and it worked fine for a year. when i moved, i had to set everything up again and now, the tv does not recognize the computer. I restarted both the computer and tv and while the tv does show the windows start-up screen (DOS, windows XP screen, etc) the tv screen goes blank after the windows XP screen while computer monitor continues to work. any ideas on what is wrong or what i can do to fix this? thanks in advance

  Next time you have it hooked up to a regular monitor, change the screen resolution back to one the TV was able to support - 1280x720 or 1368x766 or whatever worked before. At the very least, 1024x768 should work, and from there you can try different settings (once connected to the TV) and just wait 15 seconds for the screen to go back if you try a setting that doesn't work. In short, set resolution to 1024x768 next time connected to monitor, then connect to TV and slowly try higher resolutions.
