Lcd Screen into tv input?

I want to get picture from comp to my LCD 40" screen but its about 5meters away...also input is used by 360

  • Ok I would very much like to get picture from my 40" lcd screen instead of the 19" monitor The problem is my lcd tv is about 5 meters away from my computer and I have no idea what cable to get for this and where to hook it up to. Also The vga input of the lcd tv is already being used by my 360 and I don't want to have to take that out each time I want a picture from my pc going to it. Is there some kind of switcher out so I can switch between the two? I would also like to keep the picture on the normal computer monior too after I have finished using it on the tv. But again, I dont want to have to take the lead out of the back of the computer and replace it with the computer screen lead each time either. Is there an easy way to do all this? I'd love to play pc games on my big screen but I just cant figure out how exactly without taking out leads and the distance is an issue too.

  • Answer:

You have a couple of options. You can use the an S-video cable at that distance and that would give you the best video from your comp. Provided that your video card has an s-video out. You can also use the video out from your graphics card. This will not provide as clear a picture but its not bad. You really don't need a switch box what you need is a high end graphics card. I use a Radeon 9000 and have been very satisfied with the results. It allow me to put the video to the TV the monitor or both at the same time.
