How can i connect my computer and dvd player together?

How can I connect a DVD player to a computer monitor?

  • I do not need to receive TV, only to play DVDs. I have a flat screen monitor and a standard DVD player. Is there a converter that will allow them to be connected together?

  • Answer:

You can. You need an analogue RCA to digital DVI converter. Then run a DVI lead into the monitor.

Most of the time older tvs use a scart cable. however most these days use pin connection (the colored cables).. Or you could use a DVI cable which is much better quality, or if your tv is HD ready then you can use a HDMI cable.. However these can prove expensive! www.currys.com

If you are willing to route it through a video card in a computer, yes, but if you need to buy a video card just for that why not just get a dvd player and put it in your computer?

Your PC can play DVDs, without the need to connect a dvd player to your monitor Or is there another reason you want to do it?

You can connect to your monitor if it has component (Red, yellow, white) Or if your DVD player has VGA.
