How to set up dual monitors?

  • I'm new to this whole kind of thing and I wanted to know how I can get dual monitors, I have one 1600x900 and 1400x90. Here are my pc specs: CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 220 Processor RAM: 4GB Grahpics Card: GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 OS: Windows 7 Home Premium Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit Sound card: Yes And my whole pc is called the Acer Aspire X1420 So how can I set up dual monitors and will my pc be able to run it?

Actually, you can't use two monitors with your system. If I read right, you only have one VGA graphics port. You need a graphics card that supports two monitors (two monitor ports). Sorry. (If I'm mistaken and you have a version of this system that does have to ports then disregard this info ... but from what I read you only have one)

In windows 7, keyboard shortcut Win+P and select the option or Right click on empty area of desktop, click screen resolution from menu. Then click multiple displays, Extend (or duplicate)these displays. You may have to Detect if all monitors are not displayed. Make certain the appropriate cables are used.
