How can I connect two monitors to my laptop?

Two monitors to my laptop?

  • hiiiiii i was wondering if there is anyway you can connect up another pc monitor to a laptop that already has its vga port being used by one monitor. I have searched about and found that the only way to have two monitors showing two different things is by a adapter vga usb cable. I dont want a vga splitter as i dont want the two screens cloning and displaying the same thing so i saw a usb vga adapter thing but they seem to be all about 30 to 50 pounds and i don't really want to spend that much just to have two monitors connected to my laptop at once =[ is there any other item that isn't as expensive and allows dual screens ? Thanks. and yes my laptop allows two screens

  • Answer:

Your laptop "allows two screens" all right, its own LCD panel and ONE external monitor. If you want to connect another monitor, that is a THIRD screen, which your laptop CANNOT support, unless you buy one of those external USB video cards as you found out. In addition to being expensive as you already know, external USB video cards are slow, limited in resolution, and unstable. I wouldn't even bother with those.
