Computer troubles please please help?

  • hello i plug in my computer fully but my monitor doesnt come on its not the monitor that is wrong becuase i have tried it with a diffrent computer when i turn on my computer the green and red lights stay on and my cd drive light is on if i try to hold the power button it does nothing so i have to take it out of the mains to turn it off there is nothing wrong with the monitor or the graphics card please help i dunno why its doing this

    When you boot up do you hear the post beep? if so is there more than 1 beep? can you hear the fans working? ps: When you tested the monitor on another computer did you use the same cpu to monitor data cable?

Is the LED on the monitor orange? If so it is not getting a signal. How many video outputs are on the back of your computer? These would most likely be VGA or DVI. You either have a bad video card or the card you are plugged in to is disabled, you can enable it in BIOS if this is the case.

i have this sometimes when my computer doesn't shut down properly and it's not your monitor, should be a case of holding down the power button for 5 seconds to turn it off then turn back on till it fires up. this works for me, hope it does for u
