How to use a laptop screen as just a screen?

How to Use a PC screen with a laptop (Broken screen) so use my PC screen but laptop hardrive... :D Peace!?! :P?

  • Laptop screen has smashed, I have two more computers (three screens in total) and a laptop to use. But The Laptop wich is broke has my WoW on it! Now is there anyway to Use my PC screen in the place of the broken Laptop screen, Like link them up with the wires. I would appreciate quick answers, Also If you have MSN I do to and would appreciate a Step by step guide, I have webcam so u can guide me through :D thats about it really. Thanks again and Reply quickly :D

    You know, i had exactly the same problem a couple of years ago, what i did then was i plugged a pc monitor with a vga connector, other than that i know no solution :S But i know if you want to replace the screen, you'll need exactly the same model there is in your laptop. with kind regards, Whitebird

I have the same problem. 1 Connect an old pc monitor using the VGA cable already attached to it, or, 2 If you have a modern tv with a VGA connection you can use that, but you will need to buy the cable. If you have a local Maplin Electronics shop they will help you choose the right cable. A replacement screen costs around £75 online, plus the installation charge if you cannot do it yourself. Unless your laptop is fairly new, it may be cheaper to buy a new one, but wait until Windows 7 is available late October.

plug the monitor cable from the external monitor into the laptop's vga port.. if this does not work then its likely that either A:> theres a setting that needs to be changes in the laptop, or B:> its too broken to do.
