Is a bad monitor caused by electronic interference?

Lightning caused monitor to explode.?

  • Last night there was a thunderstorm and i was watching videos on my computer as i was trying to go to sleep. I heard a loud thunder and then right after something behind my monitor exploded making a cracking sound and sparks. I quickly turned off both my desk top and monitor. It seems like my desk top is okay, but i am concerned about my monitor because of the cracking sound and spark. The monitor turns on fine, but i dont know if something could have been burned inside. This is the model of my monitor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236091 If anyone knows anything about monitors, or if something similar happened to you and would like to share your knowledge that would be great. Thank you.

  • Answer:

Sparks are usual while connecting the monitor power chord while the switch is on. As long as your monitor works as usual. Please don care about the spark.
