How do I use tv as external monitor for laptop in safe mode?

my laptop screen is broken (thanks to my 1 1.2 year old) and I have it hooked up to my tv with an HDMI cord. I now have a trojan and need to go into safe mode to get rid of it but the tv only works with the laptop when it's turned on normally...is there any way make it so that the tv will show the laptop display in safe mode?

This is a strange question, seeing as how when I plug my HDTV into my HDMI port, it works fine in normal mode and in safe mode. Sadly, I don't think that you will be able to seeing as how your video settings are accessed either in normal mode, or in the video settings in safe mode. You would have to get to the video settings either way first. If that is not the problem, there may not be one! Sometimes, the desktop will only display after you have bypassed all the SafeMode warnings, and arrive to the screen at which you login (This is only the case with Windows Vista and Windows 7)
