Turning my 50'in hd-tv into a moniter for my mac mini ?

you see i want to connect my mac mini to my 50'in tv and use the tv as a moniter but whenever i connect it with the hd wire it works and when i log into my account it goes blank......what should i do? is there some sort of setting i have set on the mac

Most likely you set your Mac Mini to run at a resolution that your HDTV cannot handle. That happened to me before too on my Mac Mini when I messed around with the display settings. :-P Here's what you have to do to fix it: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2213 You need to do what is outlined in the second part with resetting the Mac using the command line interface in Single User Mode. That's what I had to do to get my Mac Mini to work again. Hope this helps, and good luck.
