What is the difference between a lcd monitor and a led black light monitor?

    Newer top-end LCD's are now being back lit by LED's rather then a CCFL bulb. This is to better localize the back light so dark areas can be better created by turning off the back light. Plasma TV's are able to create very dark blacks because their pixels can turn off individually. Normal LCD's couldn't do this because of the 'always on' CCFL bulb(s)! Now LED back lit LCD's are able to create contrast ratio's that are close to Plasma's(1,000,000:1)...however, Plasma's are still better(2,000,000:1)! Here's my list of best picture quality TV's: 1. Plasma(Panasonic or Samsung) 2. LED LCD(Samsung) 3. LCD(Samsung, Sony, LG or Sharp)
