What monitors are good for gaming and are resonably cheap?

Are wide screen monitors good for gaming pcs?

  • i like the look of some widescreen monitors, it is time for a change because my old monitor is old and i want a new hd monitor. i want to know do wide screen monitors look good with games? i don't want them to be stretched and look stupid. the size i am getting is between 19-22 inch. please tell me if they look good for playing games. thanks

Yes they are great for gaming, but make sure it has a built in scaler in case you get another down the line that's a different size. A scaler will let you set the resolution yourself instead of having to use it solely at its native resolution. Most do have them built in now, but just make sure. A good example are the Dell 3007 WFP and the 3008 WFP. I have one of each and the scaler is only on the 3008. Hope that helps.

Not to bump an answered question, but the resolution and graphics card(s) play a big role in how the graphics look. I recommend 1680X1050 or higher. IMO the more screen real estate the better. For gaming and office work.

I wouldn't go with this technology of a monitor. I would recommend the Asus vw246h. great monitor, quality, and economical pricing! Cheers, Steve

I am a gamer and most games support widescreen resolutions, so nothing looks stretched. The widescreen is awesome for gaming.

Its should be OK for gaming. 22 inch would be perfect size to run most games at full resolution.
