I'm trying to connect my laptop to my tv using a VGA cable and all I get is a black screen?
-
My TV has a port to connect the VGA cable directly, but when I put the TV on that input I just get a blank screen on the TV. The computer works as normal. How do I set my computer to send the signal to the TV? Thanks!

Answer:
Read your TV's manual and find out what its native resolution is. If you are running at a higher resolution than what the TV can handle, you get no image. So find out what your TV's native resolution is, then set your computer to run at that and see if you get an image. Good luck.

Maybe your cable is bad, or maybe its not tight enough. Those are the only problems i've had when trying to connect my laptop to my tv. You're sure you have it on the right input?
