Should I connect my speakers through my monitor or my PC?

How can I plug my xbox 360 into a monitor by hdmi and have audio into pc speakers at the same time?

  • I have a monitor with 2 hdmi ports and a vga port. I have the xbox plugged into the monitor by hdmi cable but the sound isnt very good. How can I connect pc speakers to the monitor and/or xbox. The monitor also has an audio line in if this helps.

    You can use the AV cable for just the audio if you want to use it that way. Sometimes people choose to do this if they want HDMI to their TV/Monitor while using the optical/RCA connections for sound. Check out http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-HDMI-AV-Cable/dp/B000UODATY. You'll probably want to try something similar to this, or maybe just use the original AV cables the console came with. I hope this helps.

personally i found that Audio over HDMI to my TFT monitor stoped working after the 'Fall' update so i resorted to this (follow link) then just connected the phono's to my HiFi unit, or you could get a phono to jack converter and plug it into your computer's link in http://www.xbox360forum.com/forum/xbox-360-auxiliary/90176-xbox-360-hdmi-cable-digital-optical-adapter-hack.html
