Difference between lcd tv display and lcd computer monitor

i am a graphics artist and i want to buy a a very good monitor for my comp .. but i want to know if there is any difference between these two can i use a lcd tv as a monitor for my comp and use it for my graphics work .. plzz advice

Answer:
Usually the resolution of a TV is much lower than for a monitor. The main thing that stops you is that a computer monitor has VGA or DVI inputs. A TV will have HDMI which a PC can not use. Having said that there are some displays which can handle both inputs.
