How can I connect my ps3 to my computer monitor?

Can I connect my ps3 to an hp high definition monitor that has a hdmi slot without a computer?

  • Okay so I'm wondering if I can connect my ps3 to a full 1080p computer monitor. The monitor is full high definition and it has an HDMI slot in the back. But the problem is if I can connect my ps3 to the monitor without the need to connect any computer to it. So what I'm basically asking is can I connect my ps3 to the monitor without any cables besides a hdmi cable and without a computer. And I don't think that the monitor has speakers so is there any way to add these?

Yea it'll work If the montior however is not exactly 1920x1080 (like mine is 1920x1200 16:10 aspect, not 16:9 but is still rated for "1080p"mine is just 1200p) it may look a little distorted, but most good monitors have a 1:1 scaling as a option, if it does have a funky resolution but for sure you wont damage anything by connecting the two, and they don't work. it should work, you know i cant tell you 100% that it will unless im sitting there, or know the exact monitor off hand. never know till you try, but again your not risking damage or something silly like that.
