How to Sharpen Monitor Image?

How to sharpen monitor image?

  • Have hooked my laptop up to a tv it looks fine but small text is slightly blurred. Is there anyway I can sharpen the image? Im using windows vista.

  • Answer:

Check this as it might help. This is for XP but Vista should have similar settings. Control Panel ► Display ► Appearance ► Effects ► There should be a drop down setting to smooth the screen fonts called Clear Type. Change it to that from Standard. The setting is used for LCD monitors.

You should be using the native resolution (panel resolution) of your TV set. The best way of finding this out would be to either look up the information in your owner's manual, or (if you don't know where that is) by Googling your TV's model number and owner's manual or specifications (for example, "Sony KDL52XBR9 owner's manual" or "Olevia 537H specifications"). Once you find that piece of information, set the resolution for the TV output on your laptop for that number (1920x1080, 1360x766, etc). Also, make sure that the sharpness on your TV set is turned nearly all the way up for that input; that helps to clear blurriness as well. Finally, just remember that even though your TV may support the resolution as input (1920x1080, 1600x900, 1280x720) doesn't mean that you'll get the cleanest picture that way.

been there done that got shirt

You need to set the screen resolution to the native resolution of the Telly. Thats usually 1920x1080 for full HD (1080p) or 1280×720 Hd ready (720p) The tv will always look a bit rough from close up as the pixels are much bigger, whatever size telly (even up to 56") will likely have a similar number of pixels to a cheap 17" or 19" telly or monitor so if the picels are 17 thousandths of an inch wide on a 17"tv, they whould need to be 56 thousands of an inch on a 56" plasma.to fill the screen. Good luck

Alot of people will tell you to do what your TV is, so 1900*1080 for HD but that is not always true. Just change the res settings around till it looks good to YOUR eyes. For me, having my TV at the HD settings, it is super fuzzy, bust for me at 1024*768, same as my computer's screen.
