I can not get my monitor to display on sign in. It says it is in power save mode and activate it via PC - How?

  Hiya PetersaVIP, What you have is a conundrum because if you can't see the operating system, how can you change the power settings in display properties to allow the monitor to function. If you have 2 monitors, and this is the second one then you need to right click on the desktop (Windows), and choose PROPERTIES from the drop down menu. Then click the SETTINGS tab along the top of the DISPLAY PROPERTIES window and you will see 2 monitors but 1 is grayed out. Right click on it and choose ATTACHED, then click OK and it should work if attached. If it is power setting you want then you need to click on the SCREEN SAVER tab also along the top and then click on the POWER button near the bottom. You can change the settings for your monitors there. If this is your primary monitor and you cannot get to Windows at all then you need to determine if the problem is with the computer or the monitor. The easiest way to check is to move the monitor to a different computer and try it there, if it works OK then you may have a problem with the computer but there is not enough info for me to comment on that. You can also borrow a monitor to try on your computer and if it works but your monitor will not work anywhere then it is time to get a new monitor. Also you want to check all the pins in the plug to make sure that none are bent or broken. GOOD LUCK!!
