My computer's monitor went bonkers.?
-
My computer was reconfigured from Windows XP to Windows 7 a few months ago. It was always good, smooth and fast, but recently it has problems. Sometimes the computer automatically shuts down and restart, only to restart again a few seconds after loading. My brother said that it is overheating. I let it rest for a few hours and it fixed the problem itself. NOW, it has a freaky, and severe problem. The monitor won't start, Usually, the switch button has 3 states (blue = on, orange = standby, and no colour = off). When I switch off the computer the monitor will always be on standby. Now, when I switch on the computer, the monitor went to 'Off' state and when i press it to 'On' state, it will display some details of the monitor and colours and then say "monitor is going to sleep". Then nothing else appears. The computer is on, but the monitor is not. I tried to switch it on again but it just goes back to 'Off' state saying 'Monitor is going to sleep". I did NOT press the sleep button. Also, the monitor problem comes the moment I switches on the computer, so there's NO WAY THAT I CAN ACCESS MY CONTROL PANELS OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. I would also like to solve this without hiring any repairman or those who fix computer problems. By the way, my computer is not overheating for the monitor problem. I never used it in more than 24 hours, and NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING is heated up there. The only way I can 'switch off' my computer is by switching off the power outlet.

Answer:
there are rules you know rules 1 starts will be inhibited for 30mins min if the system cannot ...get rid of its heat, due to repeated starts in quick succession ...leave the wall socket on and wait 45mins. 2 the system will beep once if the cpu is ok 3 the power supply and mobo require 30secs to settle before they will ...operate correctly when the wall socket is switched on failure to ...observe this rule will result in failed starts, including non starting graphics ....non starting hard drive, and non starting cpu's 4 the power supply fan, not the cpu fan will turn when the on button ...is pushed. it will turn off when the on button is held in for more than 4 secs. 5 cmos will become corrupted under abuse from the misuse of the supply. 6 CPU configuration information may confuse the start up if cmos is corrupted. 7 to re-register the cpu in the bios, clear the cmos, restart the pc up to 3 times ...waiting up to 30 secs each time, whilst not breaking rule 1. if cpu does not ...re-register in 3 starts, then it may be duff or you may need a slower older ...cpu that the mobo finds easier to recognise(affects older duron style systems) 8 system memory is at risk when supply is broken unexpectedly. check dimm ...operation from the bios. other rules may apply to superior power supplies or superior manufacturers such as dell and hp. ---------------------------------------… so its not the monitor, it is YOU abusing your supply and causing FAILED starts where the graphics card is not initialised properly because YOU turn off the WALL SOCKET, then press the ON button BEFORE the POWER SUPPLY and MOBO are charged up and ready. LEAVE THE WALL SOCKET ON to keep your pc in STANDBY so observe the RULES
