Will an LCD monitor purchased in Canada/USA work overseas? Is the PAL vs NTSC argument relevent?
-
I purchased an Acer LCD monitor from Canada (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10075933&catid=) and am wondering if it will work if I take it overseas. From my understanding, the displays there are completely different (NTSC vs PAL). As far as voltage goes, the monitor says its able to handle 220volts so that shouldnt be an issue. Any help would be much appreciated

Answer:
NTSC and PAL is only relevant to broadcast TV signals. Monitors use VGA standard and it's nearly the same worldwide... the only difference is the compensatory magnets for northern/southern hemisphere... for CRT only.
