How to have a multiple monitor display on a PC?

How do i get my monitor to display full screen through an HDMI connection from my PC?

  • I have my computer hooked up to a Samsung P2770HD TV. I am trying to get a full screen display through the HDMI connection from my video card, an XFX Radeon 5670 graphics card but cant seem to get it to fill the screen completely. When I use the HDMI, there is about a quarter of an inch left black all the way around the screen, but if I use the DVI connection there is no space... both are set at 1920x1080 @ 60hz. I have tried using a lower res setting, but nothing takes the black space away through the HDMI. Any ideas or feedback would be welcome. Completely baffled by this dilemma.

  • Answer:

The ATI Catalyst software by default sets your HD5670's HDMI port to Underscan by 20%. You need to enable Advanced Mode in the Catalyst Control Center, find the page for Image Scaling, and set the Overscan/Underscan to ZERO. Then your screen will fill edge-to-edge. It is a well-known annoyance with the ATI Catalyst software.
