Computer help about monitors?

I need assistance with getting two monitors to work on one computer. Care to help?

  • I have a graphics card compatible with a VGA and DVI. I have monitor A plugged into the VGA outlet, and monitor B plugged into the DVI outlet, with the help of a DVI-to-VGA converter. When I start up the computer, everything is fine. The Windows XP load screen shows up on both monitors. However, once it goes to the login screen, Monitor B goes blank and Monitor A is left perfectly normal. I checked display properties -> settings, and it shows that monitor B is now undetected by the computer. I turned off the computer and tired swapping the monitors, putting monitor B in the VGA outlet and monitor A into the DVI with the converter. Now monitor B works fine in the login screen and monitor A is now blank and undetected. I don't know what's wrong. Is it the converter? My DVI outlet? Do I have to reboot the computer? Please help!     Right click the desktop go to properties then go to the monitor display and extend the monitor or clone the screen and hit apply. you most likely wanna Extend the desk top to use both separate.

If your second monitor is on standby.. then maybe your system does recognize it. Cause monitors don't use drivers. =P Did you check "Extend the Desktop Onto This Monitor"? Or maybe you must have Plug-N-Play enabled on your computer.

ON THE WIINDOWS DESKTOP RIGHT CLICK AND OPEN CATYLIST CONTROL CENTER. GO TO MONITOR PROPERTIES AND GIVE THE SECOND MONITOR A TASK.

Umm, go to display settings and go on settings and enable 2 monitor display

Try to check out your Graphics Card settings. Right click on the Desktop and see if it gives u any options for ur graphics options or check in control panel
