LCD monitor question.

Lcd tv/monitor question?

  • I have my lcd tv hooked up to my laptop as a monitor. It works well except when I play a movie in windows media player, the actual section where the movie should be playing is black. The movie shows up on my laptop monitor, but not the lcd tv. Any suggestions how to fix it?

  • Answer:

    I think this is a 'feature' where you can only play the movie on the primary monitor. You could try setting the TV as the primary monitor under the Settings tab of Display Properties. An alternative movie player may work too.

Try a different screen resolution when playing a movie on a television screen hooked to a computer. Might want to go a bit larger , like 800x600
