Why do LCD PC screens have such a bad contrast compared to LCD TVs?
-
best LCD TVs go up to 4000:1 contrast, while LCD PC screens rarely go above 1000:1 . And since many of you don't seem to know, the advertised contrast (with fantasy values such as 1000000:1) is almost always the DYNAMIC contrast, which has nothing to do with the real contrast.

Answer:
Hi, Most LCD TV's use a high quality screen like IPS. While most LCD Monitors will use a low quality screen like TN. IPS is much more expensive than TN. That's why you can buy a 20" LCD monitor for only $100 while a 20"LCD TV is over $200.00 Hope this answered your question.
