CAN I USE MY TV AS A COMPUTER MONITOR?

Can I Use My CRT Computer Monitor As A TV?

  • I would like to know if its possible to use my CRT monitor as a Television. No, im not cheap. The reason i wanna know is because my computer is in my room at the moment and i would enjoy being able to watch standard tv shows at night while falling asleep. I understand this would not be possible without some sort of tuner, but my theory is that, i allready have a digital set top box, which is able to recieve standard tv channels, so if i was to plug this into the back of my monitor with some sort of connection i would be able to watch tv and change channels all through the digital box, while the monitor will act as a projection of those images. I just want to know what kind of a connection will i need. the back of my computer monitor only has a few connections, if anything i would need a connection running from the box to the same input that my hardrive runs into the monitor. Any feeback is welcome, however, jack me around and you will be reported =D

You can buy tv tuner for your computer, such as this one http://www.gamedude.com.au/prod_show.php?art_no=capAScinema_u3000 . This would be a better choice than connecting your set top box directly to your monitor.
