Why does my monitor keep going black?

Ok so my monitor just randomly goes black when i am on the computer. My computer doesn't go off ,but to get the monitor back on i have to restart the computer. Advice? Thanks!

Answer:
My laptop does that. I think it's the video driver. I had just reloaded mine. Check that first. If not it may be your monitor going bad.
