What is the difference between LCD TV and LCD monitor?

What's the difference from a computer monitor and a LCD TV?

  • I could spend $150-$200 on a 23' LCD monitor or I could be a lets say $200 42' LCD TV on Black Friday and look it up to my computer. What's the point of buying a computer monitor as apposed to the 42'?

  • Answer:

perently nothing, if the lcd tv has a connection for the town, and on the lcd tv, in the menu it should tell you about the pc. Which I don't know, I have a Balance monitor.

Each computer has a graphics card, what you see on the screen is the maximum resolution offered by said graphic card, if it cannot support an extremely high resolution for a 42inch tv, it will be blurry and laggy. Computer monitors are smaller and can offer a higher screen resolution for its size.

You can achieve good resolution for an LCD TV as a computer monitor if its connected via HDMI. If you only use VGA, stick with LCD monitors.
