  • Answer:

It could be the result of any number of things: 1) Virus, malware, etc. Run an anti-virus & malware detection program. 2) Dust buildup in & around the CPU heatsink. Blow out the cooling exhaust and intake ports thoroughly with compressed air to remove as much dust as possible. You could also have a bad cooling fan. CPU overheating can cause that very issue you're experiencing. 3) Corrupt operating system. The XP operating system files are corrupted either from viruses or improper shutdown of the computer. You can try to repair the OS or completely reinstall it. 4) Bad hard drive. When hard drives begin to go bad, then can cause that exact same problem. Run the computer's built-in hard drive diagnostics (if it has any) or download one from the internet and run it. If it's bad, you'll need a new hard drive. 5) Defective memory. A memory module may be bad. Try reseating what you have and run any memory diagnostics you can. It may need to be replaced if bad. 6) Since you're running off the AC power only, then any power glitch can cause the problems you're experiencing. You could get a UPS to run off of to prevent any power issues. Also, if your AC power adapter plug is not making a good connection in the computer, it could cause those problems. 7) The system board is beginning to fail. Without a lot of diagnostics & testing, it's hard to say. Hard to say for sure where your problem really lies without diagnostic testing. You could have it looked at by a repair shop to see what they say. Best of luck.

Ive heard its bad to leave it connected all the time.. i thought you had to leave it connected only till the battery was full. but since you have no battery, thats kinda confusing. if the blue screen has popped up, its probably a virus.. that also happens to my computer.

if you are able to access internet for a short period of time then download some tools such as malwarebytes antimalware and Reginout registry cleaner. blue screens are sometimes caused by the errors in windows registry, intel software partner program, reginout is recommended for fixing such errors.
