How to change my display adapter to a standard VGA mode?

Dual display problem?

  • I currently have two monitors connected to my pc both are connected to a Geforce 9400 GT graphics card via VGA and DVI respectively. I used a DVI to VGA adapter for the screen connected to the DVI port on the graphics card. The problem is that the monitor(either one of the two) that is connected to this DVI port has a greenish display and the colour red for example shows as something else. Is there some setting I could change(the driver for the graphics card is installed) or special adapter needed for the DIV display display to match the VGA one?

  • Answer:

It sounds like the main video adapter is fried or even the video cable itself. I know if one "Wire" inside the cable is damaged, it will leave something out, and what not. Try replacing the adapter first, if that doesn't work, return it or keep it, your choice, and you know it is the video cable from the monitor, and you can try to fix it, or get a new monitor. Hope I helped!
