What happens if I remove the polarizer film from a LCD screen?
-
I found online an instructables claiming that if you disassemble an old LCD screen and remove the polarizer film the whole screen will apeer white. And then you can fashion a pair of glasses out of the removed film that will enable you and only you to see the screen. Is this really what will happen? It's a popular instructables and I see no reason why they would lie, there's even a video of it in use and it's amazing. But I'd hate to ruin the old LCD in my garage, regardless of it's current use.
