Monitor not connecting to motherboard?

  • ive asked this question along with a hard drive question, and nobody seemed to answer this one so..i ask again! WOO! ok...i had a desktop computer bought about 4-5 years ago and i disassembled it because i have bought new parts and i wanted to keep the case and...now that ive bought a new case i want to revive the computer and im having a few problems I've connected all (old) parts together, and it seem to go around fine but my monitor isnt connecting to the motherboard i know it isnt a monitor problem because it works fine on my new computer i have a display card and a wireless card connected to the motherboard-the same that were attatched to that very motherboard 4-5 years ago. whats the problem? tty!

Same answer Phil, I still don't know anything about computers. Is it possible that the display card or wireless card are outdated too much to make the monitor work? Maybe your monitor works on your new computer because it has new parts in it and your parts in your old computer are 4-5 years old. A lot of things have changed in that amount of time so it could be related to your old parts. JUST A GUESS.

Your monitor connects to the graphics card, not the motherboard.

Just change the display card probably an SVGA or if your new motherboard can support the latest version of AGP try, it could solve your problem If no progress reaaemble using the old motherboard onto the new comps ans see

alright did you make sure that all you parts are compatible with each other cuz not everything is goin to work with just anything so make sure old parts are compatible with you new one cuz tec most of the time won't work with the new tec
