Answer:
The Monitor Is Not Displaying Properly If the screen on your LCD monitor has gone dark, is discolored, is washed out, or won't display properly, you first need to find out if the problem is with the monitor or something else. Your monitor provides a self test feature that allows you to check whether your monitor is functioning properly. To run the self test, follow these steps: Turn off both your computer and the monitor. Unplug the video cable from the back of the computer. Turn on the monitor. Depending on your monitor, one of the Check Signal Cable figures shown below appears. Note: While in the Self-Test mode, the LED power indicator remains green and the Check Signal figure moves around on the screen. If the monitor does not light up when you perform the self test, most likely the monitor backlight has failed. If no Check Signal Cable figure appears, there is a problem with your monitor. If you see the second figure, and one of the colored squares shown above within it does not appear, there is a problem with your monitor. If you see one of the Check Signal Cable figures as they appear above, the problem your are having is probably with your video controller, video cables, video card, or computer system. Your monitor is functioning properly. Note: The Check Signal Cable figures also appear during normal operation if the video cable becomes disconnected or damaged. If your monitor is functioning properly, and it's still dark or not displaying correctly after you re-attach the video cable, try the following: Check the video cable between the monitor and the computer and make sure both ends are fully and securely connected. Check the video card in your computer and make sure it is fully and securely inserted. Press the Auto Adjust button on your monitor. The Auto Adjustment feature automatically adjusts the fine, coarse, and position adjustments on your monitor to the incoming video signal. Generally, the Auto Adjust button is furthest to the right if you have a monitor with the function buttons set horizontally and on the bottom if you have a monitor with the function buttons set vertically. Download and install the most current video drivers for your video card. Set your monitor to its optimum refresh rate and resolution. For instructions Turn off your computer and reboot into Safe Mode. If the monitor displays in Safe Mode, reset the monitor's refresh frequency to 60 Hz. After you have reset the refresh frequency, reboot into standard mode. For instructions on booting into Safe Mode, click Try adjusting the brightness or other functions using the OSD menu. If the Self Test indicates your monitor had a problem, or you have tried all the suggestions above and the monitor did not light up, or still doesn't display correctly, your monitor needs service. If you have problem of doing this here is a link of the page from I extract all this: http://svc.samsungusa.com/faqdata/troubleshooting/ts.asp?model=&warranty_term=&pageid=835 Also will be a good idea to take a look to this troubleshot guide at:http://svc.samsungusa.com/faqdata/troubleshooting/ts.asp?pageid=141&model=&warranty_term= I have also a Samsung SyncMaster but a 19" and I havent problem yet :) I consider that its are very good monitors and I hope not to be wrong :)
