Monitor And Motherboard?

2 Monitor connection: 1 motherboard and 1 graphics card?

  • Would anything go wrong if do I VGA connection, from my motherboard to my monitor, and a DVI/VGA connection, from my graphics card to my monitor? My monitors don't have a HDMI inputs. My graphics card is a Radeon 6670 HD GDDR5 version with 1 HDMI, 1 DVI, and 1 Displayport connection (I think that's what it is called). Anyways, I only have 1 graphics card so... I can only do 1 connection to there. (I might use a displayport + a DVI/VGA connection for both monitors in the end, but I want to know if I can use the motherboard VGA connection in the mean time) Is there anything that I have to do to activate the monitor connected to my Motherboard? Sorry If I got something wrong! I am not very good with computers!

  • Answer:

You're better off just getting a HDMI to DVI/VGA converter than trying to enable the on-board graphics along with the graphics card.
